What Came Before: U.K. Garage
What Came Before: U.K. Garage is an album focused on UK garage, a style that emerged in the early to mid-1990s from a Chicago house lineage inflected with soulful, R&B-influenced garage house. The genre developed subgenres including speed garage and 2-step before being largely absorbed into successor sounds in the mid-2000s.
