Everything but the Girl

Everything but the Girl are a UK duo, Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt, who moved from folk and pop into electronica across a long catalogue. Producer Robin Millar shaped their early records, and 1994's Amplified Heart paired folk rock songwriting with guest turns from Richard Thompson, Danny Thompson and Dave Mattacks. By the mid 1990s they had turned toward drum and bass, working with Spring Heel Jack around the Walking Wounded era to set lovelorn vocals over breakbeats.
