Herbie Hancock

Herbie Hancock is a jazz pianist and composer whose catalogue moves from acoustic improvisation to electronic funk. In 1983 he began working with bassist and producer Bill Laswell, a partnership that ran through the Rockit era on Columbia. Two decades later the pair reunited for Future2Future, an album built on drum & bass and jungle influences. Hancock has said he was surprised by how much of that work still resonates with younger producers.
